Visa Finds New Ways to Support Small Businesses

By: The Quinnipiac University Economics Research Team, Nicholas Ciampanelli

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, small Romanian businesses have struggled navigating the new, often virtual, economy. To aid in this transition, Visa launched a new platform for small business owners to develop their online presence. This is by providing insights about creating a website for their business, how to sell products and services online, and how to connect with prospective customers. Additionally, the platform provides information on the benefits of digital payment and driving business growth.

In conjunction with these offerings, the platform provides Visa-exclusive offers and discounts for business owners to better optimize their operations. These offerings include improving a business’ mobile and data connectivity, ensuring businesses can promote the growth and success. These offerings are derived from Visa’s objective to help Romanian small businesses “catch-up” with those in other European Union countries.
