In January of 2022, Poland's labor ministry reported that the unemployment rate went up 0.2 percent since December 2021. While the national unemployment average for January was 5.6 percent, this does not capture the whole picture as some regions in Poland saw unemployment as high as 9.1 percent, yet others saw only 3.2 percent. The ministry reported that there were 927,800 people without jobs nationwide, which is 32,500 more people than the month prior.
