US-based IT multinational Equinix has chosen Warsaw to open its first product development centre in Europe, a Polish business daily reported on Wednesday.
The Puls Biznesu daily reported that Equinix, which is a leading global supplier of data centres and internet connection services, plans to invest USD 45 million to develop its Polish centre over the next five years.
The Warsaw facility will be the company’s third product development centre worldwide, after one in Silicon Valley in the US state of California and another in Singapore, according to Puls Biznesu.
The paper says that Equinix will use its Warsaw centre to develop and test technologically advanced network solutions. They will then be used in more than 200 data centres around the world.
