US based firm General Electric is investing 3.3 billion Hungarian forints in their healthcare development centers in Hungary. GE’s healthcare division has had centers in Szeged and Budapest since 2014. The funds will go towards software development and improving access to data and insights for medical professionals. GE Healthcare has a twenty year history in Hungary and employs over 700 people. The investment promises the creation of an additional 45 research and development related jobs. The company’s activities in Hungary involve medical imaging, disease research, drug and pharmaceutical manufacturing, data analysis, and various services. The HUF 3.3 billion commitment promises state of the art technological improvements as well as benefits for the Hungarian economy.
