Decreasing Foreign Direct Investment in Romania
Foreign Direct Investment in Romania has been declining and is expected to continue to do so. At the beginning of 2020, it was seventy percent less than the same period in 2019, and is expected to continue to get worse by another forty percent due to the coronavirus and its associated recession. The decline is expected to be the greatest in commodities and goods that are largely exported. Emerging Europe released a report with a list of the ten best investment promotion agencies in emerging European countries, and Invest Romania, Romania’s investment promotion agency, ranked in ninth.
