CEE Exchange Rate Report for September 24 – October 1

Throughout the past week, the exchange rates of Central and Eastern European currencies mostly rose in the first third of the week, with mixed results to end the week. The Czech Koruna (CZK), the Polish Zloty (PLN), and the Romanian Leu (RON) all ended the week stronger then when they previously started. Contrary to this, the Czech Koruna (CZK) ended the week in an weaker position when compared to the EURO. The currencies spent the first half of the week making linear gains and losses, although the second half of the week was more tumultuous.


Starting with the Czech Korona, the currency started the week with an exchange rate of CZK 25.408. The CZK ended the week in a slightly stronger position at CZK 25.309, which is a 0.3912% change for the currency. This week had an absolute maximum for the week on September 28th at CZK 25.517, and a relative maximum on September 30th at CZK 25.495. The Czech Korona ended the week in a stronger position then it started in.


Additionally, the Hungarian Forint began the week at an exchange rate of HUF 356.99, along with closing at a rate of HUF 358.16. This was a slightly larger percent change than the CZK, decreased by -0.3267%. This week had a relative maximum on September 30th at HUF 360.19. The currency ended the week in a slightly weaker position.

The RON had a relative maximum on September 28th at RON 4.9498 and a absolute minimum on September 29th at RON 4.9460.
