According to Profesia, a Slovakian recruitment company, the median monthly salary was 1,288 Euros in 2021. While this is a reasonably comfortable median, there is a wide range in the nation’s overall salary distribution. This is evident in that the bottom ten-percent (10%) of households earning less than 800 Euros per month, or less than 632 Euros if they do not have children, compared to the upper 10% of the income distribution which earn a minimum of 2,450 Euros per month, or at least 1,790 Euros if they do not have children.
Alongside one’s familial situation, the Slovakian income distribution also exhibits regional differences. The most prosperous region is the country’s capital, Bratislava, which has the highest median income of 1,520 Euros per month and the top 10% earning at least 2,950 Euros. However, the Presov region yielded the lowest average monthly income at 1,000 Euros, with the largest incomes approaching 1,600 Euros.
